I know a lot of people don’t like Dino Crisis 3 but the monster designs were pretty cool. I would love to see some new dinosaurs and maybe some of their own creations get into the mix. At least the characters of Regina and Dylan are great, and I think that they should absolutely focus on them on a possible reboot, if not both at least Regina. To be honest, they need to have a very good excuse to make this game's story work nowadays, while I love the original I don't think it aged very well. The major issue that I have with this is that they may come up with some ultra intelligent bullshit as seen in Jurassic World or Dino Stalker, and while I enjoyed the former I really don't like the "almost human-like intelligent dinosaur" concept. Pretty much your suggestion, to make them bring the dinosaurs from an alternative timeline. Another issue is that it may end up too similar to Jurassic Park.Ĭ. The issue that this presents is that it would be difficult to fit the Third Energy concept in the story, which I think is one key aspect to DC. This would make possible to make the dinosaurs however the devs want aesthetically and give a nice excuse to come up with new designs and a signature dinosaur exclusive to the game. The dinosaurs are somehow recreated (similar to Jurassic Park) as a genetic experiment. Not the ideal scenario in my opinion, since fans may not entirely like that.ī. Not only that, but their behavior, size and stance would be very different from what we have in DC. The dinosaurs are brought back from the cretaceous, like the original, but that would require some of them to be feathered to make it consistent with modern paleontology discoveries. I think that for it to work it would have to be completely reworked, and with that I see 3 alternatives that they could go:Ī. I agree on most of this, specially in the story sense. What sorts of ideas do you, the fans, want to see as well? These are just a few ideas I wish to explore in the video I am making. This allows the game to have a much richer environment that keeps players on their toes. Water trickles in rooms, and a large tree could have ripped apart a small lab. Large insects and lizards populate the area. Thick mist could enshroud some areas, while the lighting flickers or the power loss in some areas causes you to rely on a flashlight to see. Not to mention hallways blocked off by lockers and machinery to shield attacks by dinosaurs. So the facility is destroyed by a thick jungle. Taking cues from Dino Crisis 2 and the Resident Evil 2 remake, they should have the Third Energy disaster cause two locations to coexist. Also, a carnosaur could have a thickly armored head, making you have to attack it from the side, while others attack in packs (one could distract you while others attack from other directions). Another can have superb hearing (similar to the lickers from Resident Evil 2), while another can have vision based on movement (causing you to stop if it looks in your direction). One dinosaur can have a heightened sense of smell (able to trail your blood). These new dinosaur species can be given new abilities that effect gameplay. It also frees them from being held under scrutiny by evolving paleontology research. This would allow new evolved versions of dinosaurs never seen before, and give the creative team freedom to explore both imaginative designs for the monsters as well as enemies that can be trademarked. One variation to the story that I would suggest is that the dinosaurs are not hauled from 65 million years ago, but instead are from an alternate timeline where they never went extinct. The original Predator would be inspiration for this, as in that movie the characters must utilized more primitive methods to defeat their adversary. Various traps and environmental effects (steam pipes, laser traps, bear traps, etc) can be used to help lay ambushes on dinosaurs. This means using the environment to your advantage. I think of this as something like Dead Space, where she can find work benches to alter her weapons.Įmphasis would be on survival. The shotgun would be the primary weapon she uses (due to the type of enemy she faces), which can be altered for a variety of attacks. I would want to see this further improved by having a large customization system, where she can alter weapons and create a large variety of ammunition for her arsenal. Some of the ideas I want to discuss in my video, and ideas I feel would both improve a player's experience in Dino Crisis and separate it from being JUST a Resident Evil clone are:
